Mock Trial 2009
Winner of the Mock Trial - Nicola Hannan & Druimmuir Desert Storm with Judges - David Brown, Gary Youngson, Dean Bridges & Stuart Dunn
The Labrador Club of Scotland held its first "Mock Trial" on Sunday, 9th August, 2009 at South Mid Frew Farm, Thornhill, Stirling by kind permission of Mary & Bert McCulloch & family
The event was blessed with great weather, excellent sportsmanship & a tremendous turn out
The event raised a magnificent £440 for the club, the most any Trial or Test has raised in recent years & the organising Committee wish to thank all those who attended & contributed towards a fabulous day
An additional £174 was made by Lesley Park with the Club`s Merchandise Stand so thank you again to everyone
The Mock Trial winner was Nicola Hannan with Druimmuir Desert Storm, Alister Mckay with Branxholme Star came a close second, John Fleming with Slinky Magpie was third & Sandra Brown with Dramchap Echo was fourth
Congratulations to them all!
The high standard of the dog work, particularly at the river, made spectating extremely interesting
After the luchtime Barbaque we had a Scurry open to all attending. The winner was Anita Tait with Bud, 2nd Alistair Mackay with Rhea, 3rd Alan Dunnet with Ben, 4th Alan Dunnet with Bracken & 5th Fiona Gray with Pasco
Special thanks are due to Mary & Bert McCulloch & family, Ronnie & Caroline Steel for the burgers & strawberry tarts, Stewart Dunn for the excellent trophies and cards & May Fraser & "The Girls who Chip" for the Scurry prizes
The Field Trial Sub-Committee & Mairi Brown also merit special thanks for all the hard work put into organizing the event
